What better way to see the enchanting Isle of Skye than by exploring the "Isle of Mist" ('Eilean A Cheo') with a MacDonald Skye Tour?

The Isle of Skye, in 2010 voted as one of Europe’s top island destinations, is an island on the West Coast of Scotland and it is known for its breathtaking landscapes, steep cliffs, rugged mountains, waterfalls, castles and wildlife.

Many people that visit the island concentrate on the north and northwest part of the island. And that is fully understandable when you know that most of the famous landmarks are to be found there: the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, Kilt Rock, Duntulm Castle, Flora MacDonald’s Grave - they all can be found on that headland north of Portree. And going to the west you can visit places like Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beach and Neist Point. And back at the centre of the island you find the most beautiful mountain range of Great Britain: the imposing Cuillin with both the Black Cuillin Ridge and the more scattered Red Cuillin Hills.

The downside of so much beauty concentrated on one island is that from April to October all these places are crowded with people. Roads are blocked with cars, campervans and motorhomes. Parking places can - and DO - become very difficult to find. Should that be a reason to skip all these magnificent sites and views? No - of course not!

There is an easy alternative way to exploring Skye without the troublesome activities of driving and parking. A way in which you can sit back, relax and enjoy. Comfortably chauffeur-driven to places that you will want to carry in your heart for ever. Be enthralled whilst listening to your guide’s fascinating stories of fairies and giants; of the amazing history and geology; and of the people and clans that make this magnificent place known worldwide as ‘The Misty Isle’.
